Summer Bible Study - The Ten Commandments
The Ten Commandments express God's will for how people are to live their lives.  They don't just aim at outward performance.  The especially aim at the heart, calling upon us to obey them "out of fear and love for God".  As the Commandments express God's will for life, they reveal how sinful we are and how much we need our Savior.  That's always their first and most important usage - as a mirror.  But after receiving forgiveness from Jesus, the Ten Commandments also show us the kind of life we are the live in thankfulness for Jesus and for His wonderful salvation - God's law used as a guide.  The Ten Commandments aren't able to give us faith.  They have no power to save us or even lead us to keep them. (That's why the gospel will still be the center of our worship this summer - and always!)  Yet we need to understand what the Ten Commandments mean and how they apply in life, or we'll never appreciate the gospel and grow in our relationship with Jesus.

For Each Sunday there will be a Bible Study lesson that is related to the specific commandment for that day.  If you have been coming to Bible Study throughout the year, please continue to come to the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 am.  If you have not been coming during the year, please accept this invitation from your shepherd to join us.  You'll be blessed with a greater understaing of God's will for your life.

THe schedule for this summer is below.  Copies of all sermons will be available int he entryway of the church by the picture of Jesus.  Please feel free to pick them up and use them, especially is you  miss a Sunday or two.
